About NHEA

Founded in 1978, the Niagara Home Educators’ Association-NHEA, is a volunteer-run community serving homeschooling families throughout the Niagara Region.

For more than four decades, NHEA has existed to connect homeschooling families, provide encouragement and information, and create opportunities for families to learn, gather, and grow together.

Our community is rooted in a Christian understanding of home education and family life, while welcoming families from a variety of Christian denominations and expressions of faith.

We seek to focus on what we share, extend grace where we differ, and treat one another with respect.

Our Purpose

We believe parents have the primary responsibility and privilege of educating and nurturing their children. Our role is to encourage families in that responsibility by providing connection, information, resources, and opportunities to learn from and support one another.

Our Community

NHEA is a community of parents and families first from a variety of backgrounds and stages of their homeschooling journey. We strive to create a welcoming environment where families can build relationships, share resources, support one another through challenges, and celebrate the joys of homeschooling.

Our events and initiatives are parent-led, reflecting the interests, needs, and creativity of the families in our community.
